Are you limited in the number of 4-year contracts you can have on your team AFTER year one? The rules state:
- Each team will select no more than 5 players with 4 year contracts, year one - Each team will select no more than 5 players with 3 year contracts, year one - The remaining players will be contracted for 1 or 2 years, year one
Thanks, Joe

No limit after year one. And, no limit in free agency this year. Last year, I started the season day 1 with 7 guys on the DL/lL. The rules allow you to sign free agents for all those on the DL. If I wanted I could have signed all 7 of those free agents won in the bidding process to 4 years. Not a wise move, but I could have. Does this answer your question?
After our draft is over and before we sign each player to a contract I will send a message to all, to best explain the contracting of players this year and for the future. It’s best not to get into detail now. Let’s draft, be aware the draft will cost each team $136 of $160 cap money. When trading MLB picks that number will go up or down depending what rounds are being traded.

The salaries are entered by round, correct?
So those of us trading up for picks will actually have a salary in excess of $136 (assuming the later round picks traded away didn't perfectly balance out)...while teams trading down will actually have salaries under $136.
That is to say, the cost per player is determined by round selected, and not by what number player on your team it was.
Unless my understanding is totally off.

Cost entered by round, yes....in other words the cost per year for the player you drafted in a particular round.
Yes, all teams will have 26 players after the draft with slightly varying cap dollars spent based on trades.
There is a chart on the Official Rules and highlighted at the top of each round to let you know how much per year each round is....so you can look up what an 18th round pick costs, for example.
